Our first stop will be at the spot where Jewish settlers first landed in India, over 2000 years ago - at the original landing spot at Navgaon. They were oil pressers fleeing the religious prosecution in Israel and were shipwrecked off the Mumbai coast; survivors swam to the shores and began life anew while retaining their faith.

Our next stop will be at the oldest Jewish cemetery in India, the cemetery where the survivors of the shipwreck buried those who died. Later, we will visit a primitive Bene Israel Village to meet the descendants of the original survivors. One of our last stops will be at the Synagogue in Alibaug.

The experiences of Day 2 of this Jewish Heritage Tour in India ends with a meeting with distinguished members of the Jewish community for a first-hand account of Jewish customs and life experiences in India.
